The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours’ album to inspire haunted house for Halloween Horror Nights

This year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando will have a haunted house that will be set to music from the smash album “After Hours” by pop phenomenon The Weeknd.

Halloween Horror Nights typically includes haunted houses with themes inspired by films like “Ghostbusters” and television shows like “Stranger Things.” On rare occasions, it has included homes dedicated to musicians like Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath.

For the first time ever, a haunted house is themed around an album, making this year unique.

The Weeknd, a Grammy Award-winning musician, is working with Universal to build a haunted house where visitors can expect to be “stalked by slashers, bandaged maniacs, horrific toad-like creatures and other unfathomable horrors from the mind of the artist.”

According to Universal’s press release, some of the album’s songs may be played inside the actual house and “reimagined as a horror movie soundtrack.”

At the Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, guests can check out the haunted house. Both the Hollywood and Orlando houses will be open starting on September 2 and being open through October 31. Each event’s tickets are already on sale.

The themes for three other haunted house attractions have already been released by Universal.

Michael Myers will be making a comeback in a house decorated for Halloween, Blumhouse Productions, the studio behind “Get Out” and other well-known horror movies, will have a house of its own, and a house will also include the Universal Monsters Dracula, The Mummy, and The Wolf Man.

“After Hours” has been in theatres for two years, but it keeps setting new records. Two of the album’s major songs, “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless,” received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America in April.

The Weeknd said in the press announcement, “Halloween has always been essential to my music, so this is a genuine dream come true. I am really eager for people to witness this chaos!
